The Electrify Expo made its first stop ever in Phoenix on May 4-5, marking a pivotal moment in the advancement of electric mobility in Arizona. Spanning over one million square feet, this gathering shined a spotlight on the latest in electric vehicles, offering an immersive weekend filled with innovation, community engagement, and the reality of EVs in today’s world.

Phoenix: “The Electric Detroit”

It was no surprise that the Electrify Expo came to the Phoenix metro area. The city is home to many industry-leading EV companies and suppliers, such as Lucid, Nikola, Waymo, and Atlis. Furthermore, new chip and battery manufacturing facilities by Intel, TSMC, KORE Power, and LG Energy Solutions are currently being built in the area, further cementing the reputation of the area and the role it will play in the EV era.

Discovering the Latest in Arizona Electric Vehicles

Electrify Expo presented an exceptional opportunity to test drive the latest electric vehicles from leading manufacturers such as Tesla, Ford, BMW, KIA, Toyota, Volvo, Lexus, and VinFast. This experience highlighted the commitment to a sustainable future, perfectly aligning with Arizona’s growing electric vehicle movement.

Furthermore, attendees experienced the thrill of electric motorcycles and the versatility of electric bikes through specially designed courses, showcasing the cutting-edge of Arizona’s electric vehicles. Additionally, the Kid Zone, tailored for young explorers, offered a safe and fun environment for children to experience the joy of electric mobility.

Beyond Mobility: A Festival Celebrating Electric Innovation

The festival zone connected technology with lifestyle, providing an interactive platform for attendees to explore advancements in electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and sustainable living solutions. This segment of the expo epitomized the vibrant electric vehicle culture in Phoenix and throughout Arizona. Complementing the exploration of electric vehicles, the event featured a selection of food trucks and live music, making it a perfect day out for families and individuals interested in the future of electric vehicles.

Electrify Showoff: Highlighting the EV Aftermarket

Electrify Showoff stood as a testament to the creativity and innovation within the electric vehicle community in Arizona, showcasing highly customized EVs and inspiring attendees to personalize their electric rides. Classic car fans were thrilled with the amazing rides on display. Conductive Classics showcased a Tesla-swapped 1964 Ford Galaxy, while Evolved Imports brought their converted 1990 Skyline GTR, blending classic JDM style with modern EV powertrain conversions.

Being based in the Phoenix metro area, Legacy EV had a large presence at the expo, bringing their electrified F-100, dubbed Chargezilla, in addition to Project E, a 1930 Model A Sedan. The aggressive, meticulously modified Model A embodied every hot-rodder’s dream, now transformed into an electric powerhouse. Since its electrification, Project E has evolved into a crucial validation platform for integrating various electric powertrains, paving the way for remarkable milestones like live gas-to-electric conversions.

Additionally, the Ford Performance Cobra Jet EV was a standout attraction, fresh off setting a world record for the fastest quarter-mile pass with a full-bodied drag car, clocking in at 7.759 seconds at 180.14 miles per hour.

The Electrify Expo invited all of Phoenix and Arizona to join in this celebration of electric mobility, offering a hands-on glimpse into the exciting world of electric vehicles. Whether you were a seasoned EV enthusiast or curious about the future of transport, this event provided an unparalleled opportunity to experience the electric revolution up close.
