The accomplished team at Southfield Classics has over 85-plus years of combined bumper-to-bumper automotive experience and does almost all work in-house. At the helm is industry veteran Daniel Paul, who started as an automotive painter and has now spent more than 35 years demonstrating a dedication to excellence and a passion for automotive craftsmanship. According to Paul, the decision to embrace electric powertrains was driven by a forward-thinking vision to anticipate evolving regulations while embracing a cleaner, more sustainable future. By replacing the conventional internal combustion engine with battery packs and an electric motor, they have crafted a platform that not only meets future regulatory standards but also delivers unmatched performance and undeniable nostalgia. Their latest venture, the SC 31T electric truck, is a striking manifestation of this philosophy. Built from all new parts in the iconic image of a 1950s 3100 Chevrolet truck, the SC31T seamlessly marries nostalgia with cutting-edge technology. To help realize this vision, Daniel Paul and his team turned to Ampere EV, manufacturers of the Atom Drive system—a fully integrated electric vehicle drivetrain built to OEM standards. Every component is designed to work together and comes pre-programmed making integration a simple affair. The system also boasts touch-safe connections, high-voltage interlock, and uses advanced diagnostics techniques to display any faults and parameters to the driver. Our forthcoming vehicles will bear the Southfield Classics mark, and they will redefine automotive excellence. A defining feature of the SC31T is its instantaneous torque—a welcomed characteristic of electric vehicles. A Cascadia Motion iM-225 provides 300 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of torque, helping the SC31T accelerate at a breakneck pace and keeping drivers pushed back in their seats. An 84kWh battery pack feeds this motor giving the SC31T an estimated 250 miles of range. CCS fast-charging is also equipped so you can get back on the road faster when you do need a charge. The chassis is a custom unit, built in-house by Southfield Classics. It features Mustang 2 independent front suspension, and a Ford 9-inch rear axle with a 4.11:1 gear set, held in place with a 4-link rear suspension set-up. The SC31T also sits on a RideTech air-ride setup, with three programmed suspension heights, ensuring a comfortable ride and badass stance, no matter the conditions. Every component used in the build is brand new, including the body, which was sourced from Dynacorn. Southfield took this brand-new body and ensured that fit and finish was meticulous before proceeding. The body also underwent a series of tasteful body modifications, including adding a roll pan and moving the rear bumper in 3 inches. The body was then coated in a beautiful pearl white from Cande Shop and finished off with a coat of Hot Rod Flatz satin finish clear. Meticulous attention to detail extends beyond the exterior and into the cab. The interior, done in-house at Southfield Classics, boasts sumptuous full-grain leather upholstery with Alcantara suede accents and German carpet on the floorboards for an especially luxurious feel. Gauges from Dakota Digital have been modified to work with the EV system displaying data such as RPM, speed, as well as battery and motor temperatures. A touchscreen display mounted centrally on the dash provides even more real-time data for the driver. Of course, modern conveniences such as power windows and door locks, power steering, and air conditioning have not been forgotten either. We are making waves in the market, and we are poised for success. For enthusiasts seeking to experience the thrill of driving a classic vehicle with the performance of the future, the Southfield Classics SC31T electric truck is a leap forward. Southfield Classics’ commitment to innovation transcends the SC31T. With plans to unveil additional electric vehicles, including a GT40 replica, they are forging a path toward a new era of bespoke classic cars. As Daniel Paul puts it, “We are making waves in the market, and we are poised for success. Our forthcoming vehicles will bear the Southfield Classics mark, and they will redefine automotive excellence.” Southfield Classics is just getting started. Pictured here are their first two EV builds, both created in the image of the iconic Chevy 3100.
